A Food Bank for Bushey
Even when life looks comfortable, many households are struggling to get by. For people going through hard times, a food bank can be an unexpected but vital lifeline. Red Trust Bushey is working with St James's church to establish a food bank which opened in January. It's part of our vision for our community where people can meet, connect, and help each other.
If you need a food parcel, the food bank is open every Friday between 10am and 12pm, at Church House by St James Church, Bushey High St WD23 1BD. It is open to everyone who needs it - just turn up. Tea and coffee are available if you want a chat.
Can you help?
If you would like to donate food, there is a box in the foyer of Church House (opposite St James' Church) which is open Monday-Friday 10-12, and on Sunday mornings. We would appreciate canned meat / fish / vegetarian options, canned vegetables and fruit, tea, coffee, long life milk, cereals, washing up liquid, washing powder and sanitary items. Please could you make sure that all food is in date?
As a new charity, the Red Trust needs to raise funds to enable it to help to establish the food bank and other projects. To send in funds, please donate online, or our support us pages will tell you where to send a cheque.
Support the Red Trust through a donation of £10, £20 or £50, and we can send you a token outlining the sort of work that your gift could help to support.
£10 – Could buy supplies of tea, coffee and chocolate for our café and food bank
£20 - Could support the food bank to open for an hour and a half
£50 - Could open the community café on a Saturday morning
To receive your gift token, make a donation here, or send a cheque, and email firstname.lastname@example.org to order your token. Your gift will be used where the need is greatest.
